HA! i knew it! thanksgiving is the WORST american holiday served by asians. while whites serve turkey, asians serve kimchi. while whites serve corn, asians serve rice. while whites serve mashed potatoes, asians serve pumpkin juk (죽) filled with peas.
woohoo. way to celebrate thanksgiving ya noobs.
see, this is why you eat at thanksgiving PARTIES thrown by asians. not little asian family sit-downs. asian thanksgiving parties actually serve the good stuff: both white AND asian. so for our thanksgiving day, for breakfast i was served mashed potatoes, rice, and cheese at home. at lunch, my family went to this other person's house cuz my dads a pastor and we were invited to go. lunchtime had EVERYTHING. like, they had turkey, korean and white pasta, cranberry sauce, fruit salad, pumpkin pie, cherry tart, pineapple slices, green beans, etc...
and while im reminiscing, lemme just say that i only just this morning found out how to spell pumpkin correctly. amazing, huh?
so for dinner we went to my second uncle (my dad's cousin)'s house, and DAYAMN he served good sushi. mark of a bad guy: MUST LOVE SUSHI. dude, it looked totally like the kind that they served at chinese buffets, except it looked yummier since he included his own little wasabi sauce that he made himself. he's only a home cooker, but you know how home cookers always have the best homemade food. at their apartment, we got to see their little baby girl.
SO adorable. she looks exactly like her dad.
which, i mean to say, is a HUGE complement, since you dont really see a lot of 30 year old dads who look like they just got married. come on, the baby just fits in the whole young couple picture. :D shes a really healthy fat baby. i guess fat babies are the healthiest. we gave them a box of diapers and clothes for the baby but she's apparently too big for diaper size 3. oh, that little fat 1 year old. *sigh*
and we had a great thanksgiving. not too asian, not too white. cuz u know i gotta have both. (im a fwinkie, thats why.)
